ESGpec is part of the DeepClimate Brazil 2025 Panorama, a national mapping of climate deeptech companies.

A Brazilian startup specializing in technology applied to livestock farming was one of the deeptech companies that provided the foundation for the study conducted by Quintessa on science and innovation for the climate.

ESGpec, a Brazilian deeptech company specializing in sustainability applied to livestock farming, is part of the DeepClimate Brazil 2025 Panorama , a national study that mapped 254 Brazilian climate deeptech companies , focusing on science, technological innovation, and potential environmental impact. The initiative is led by Quintessa , in partnership with strategic actors in the innovation and climate ecosystem in Brazil.

What are deeptechs?

In the context of the DeepClimate Panorama, deeptechs are companies that develop solutions based on scientific research, deep technological innovation, and high technical rigor , generally with longer development cycles and strong integration between science and practical application. Unlike purely digital or incremental solutions, deeptechs address complex challenges, such as climate change, land use, and decarbonization, through robust methodologies, technical validation, and scalable technologies.

About the study

The DeepClimate Brazil Panorama aims to generate qualified information about deeptech solutions focused on the climate agenda, increasing the visibility of businesses operating at the intersection of science, technology, and decarbonization . ESGpec was part of the group of mapped deeptech companies that served as the basis for the study , contributing to the current picture of climate innovations under development and at scale in the country.

Key insights from the DeepClimate Brazil 2025 Outlook

The DeepClimate Brazil 2025 Panorama reveals a rapidly expanding climate deeptech ecosystem, still in the process of consolidation. The study identified 254 climate deeptechs , equivalent to about 26% of all deeptechs mapped nationally by the most recent Deep Tech Radar Brazil 2025 (Emerge), indicating that the climate agenda already occupies a central role in Brazilian scientific and technological innovation.

Among the main findings, the relevance of solutions focused on land use, decarbonization of agriculture, and nature-based solutions stands out , an area in which ESGpec is involved. This set of initiatives represents about a third of the deeptech companies mapped, reflecting the strategic role of the agricultural sector in Brazil's climate transition.

The study also highlights that the Brazilian climate deeptech ecosystem is mostly composed of solutions still in market consolidation, with a strong scientific basis, but facing challenges in expanding applied validations and commercial insertion. Infrastructure for real-world testing, strategic partnerships, and certification mechanisms appear as recurring obstacles.

One highlight of the Panorama is the strong presence of advanced digital technological foundations , such as artificial intelligence, data science, and analytical platforms, demonstrating the central role of these technologies in enabling scalable climate solutions adapted to the Brazilian reality.

Despite the challenges, 73% of deeptech companies have expressed interest in raising investment in the next 12 months, signaling a maturing ecosystem with growing demand for patient capital and growth strategies.

Another relevant point of the Panorama is the geographic concentration of deeptechs in the Southeast-South axis , accompanied, however, by the emergence of new hubs in the Northeast and Midwest, strategic regions for tropical agriculture and natural-based production systems, a context in which ESGpec already operates, with applications in different Brazilian states and biomes.

By making these analyses public, the DeepClimate Panorama reinforces Brazil's role as a potential global leader in science-based climate innovation , provided it can transform applied science into scalable, market-connected solutions integrated with public policies and the international climate agenda.

About ESGpec

ESGpec is a Brazilian deeptech company that develops digital solutions based on data science and artificial intelligence for measuring, analyzing, and managing ESG indicators in the dairy supply chain . Its portfolio includes tools such as PEC Calc (carbon footprint), BEA Score (animal welfare), ESG Farm Score (ESG 360 ° assessment ), and the PEC Map analytical platform , used by dairies, cooperatives, certification bodies, technical assistance programs, and producers.

Currently, ESGpec's solutions have already been applied to more than 700 farms , distributed across nine Brazilian states, through different assessment modules that include animal welfare, ESG diagnosis, and carbon footprint measurement . These applications cover distinct biomes: Atlantic Forest, Cerrado, Caatinga, and Pampa .

In the first complete cycle of measuring the carbon footprint of milk , carried out on farms with complete data for Life Cycle Assessment using PEC Calc , the observed average was 1.21 kg of CO₂ equivalent per kg of FPCM . This indicator expresses the intensity of emissions associated with milk production , standardized using the concept of Fat and Protein Corrected Milk (FPCM), which adjusts the volume produced according to the fat and protein content, allowing technical comparisons between different production systems. The average productivity of the evaluated farms was 21.6 kg of milk per cow per day , highlighting the potential of Brazilian livestock farming when evaluated with technical and methodological rigor.

Beyond technological development, ESGpec works to connect the ecosystem through Despertar Regenerativo (Regenerative Awakening ), a collaborative community focused on sharing knowledge, data, and sustainable practices in dairy farming, and ESGpec Synergy , a program that brings universities, researchers, and educational institutions closer to the applied use of the company's tools in teaching, research, and extension projects.

The startup has already participated in relevant acceleration and development programs, such as Acelera ESG , Inova Cerrado , Hangar Mulheres , Capital Empreendedor , Casale Startups , and InovAtiva de Impacto , where it was recognized as a Leading Startup in Environment and Sustainability . In 2025, one of its co-founders, Heloise Duarte, was awarded the Sebrae Women in Business Award in the Science and Technology category (MG) .

ESGpec was also present at COP30 in Belém as accredited press , through its co-founder, Bruna Silper, who worked as a sustainability columnist for Revista Leite Integral, following global debates on climate, agriculture and adaptation, and reinforcing the company's alignment with the international climate agenda.

By integrating carbon footprint, animal welfare, and ESG indicators , ESGpec translates international methodologies to the Brazilian production reality and supports companies and producers in data-driven decision-making , contributing to the sustainable transition of livestock farming.
