PEC scores

Knowing where we are is the first step

The PEC scores were designed to allow farms to assess their current status regarding the ESG agenda, with special attention to GHG emissions and animal welfare. Knowing where we stand and identifying opportunities for improvement is the first step on the journey!

The app, available for Android and iOS, offers three diagnostics: BEA Score, Pre-Carbon Score, and ESG Farm Score, as well as the ability to create customized solutions (via PEC Solve). Contact us to schedule a presentation of the solutions.

PEC scores enable the diagnosis of sustainable and regenerative practices on rural properties, resulting in monitoring of current status and progress over subsequent periods. Information is collected in a fun, gamified, and user-friendly way, with the result presented as a score from 0 to 10.

With the BEA Score, producers and technicians can now diagnose the animal's condition and identify potential paths for improvement. The score ranges from 0 to 10, and the higher the score, the greater the level of care taken in respecting the five freedoms of animal welfare: freedom from thirst, hunger, or malnutrition; freedom from discomfort; freedom from pain and disease; freedom to express natural behaviors; and freedom from fear and stress.

It provides an opportunity to understand the data required to calculate the carbon footprint. The farm's Pre-Carbon Score indicates its readiness for footprint calculation. The result indicates maturity in terms of accessibility and organization of the necessary information. The score ranges from 0 to 10, and the higher the score, the more prepared the farm is to have its carbon footprint calculated.

It's a thermometer measuring the level of adoption of sustainable and regenerative practices. The Score was loosely based on the DSF (Dairy Sustainability Framework) and shares simplified guidelines for each of the 11 criteria, both for educational purposes and to provide an estimate of a farm's preparedness to operate in an increasingly sustainable manner. It allows for monitoring and fostering development and evolution.
