An initiative focused on governance and animal welfare evaluated 504 farms across five states and received recognition in the ESG & Sustainability category.

The National-Scale Animal Welfare Governance project, developed by Alvoar Lácteos in partnership with ESGpec, won the ESG & Sustainability category of the Dairy Vision Awards 2026. The recognition was announced during Dairy Vision, held on October 27th and 28th in Atibaia, São Paulo, and highlights an initiative that brought structured animal welfare assessments to 504 milk-producing farms in five states.

ESGpec attended the awards ceremony alongside the Alvoar team. For the startup, the result recognizes work built with technical teams and producers, in which technology allows for the organization of field information and its transformation into indicators for supply chain management.

Tatiana Ude, Quality and Projects Manager at Alvoar's Fundraising Department and the project manager, received the award alongside Bruno Girão, the company's CEO. In her acceptance speech on behalf of the company, she highlighted the 40 people involved, the producers' participation, and the partnership with ESGpec.

“The project, carried out in partnership with ESGpec, evaluated more than 500 farms in 5 states and provided each producer with an individual report outlining what they can improve in practice. Some of the data even reached ADSA in the United States,” highlighted Tatiana Ude. “The Alvoar Fundraising team made this happen. They visited the farms, spoke with the producers, and gave the project a face. This award is yours. My special thanks to my director, Armindo Neto, for trusting me and supporting this project. Our focus remains the same: to develop producers sustainably, because the supply chain only advances when the field advances along with it.”

“It was very special to witness this recognition alongside the Alvoar team. For us at ESGpec, it is a satisfaction to contribute with technology and technical knowledge to transform this information into indicators that help guide improvements. The award values this collaborative work and reinforces the importance of continuing what has been built,” says Bruna Silper, CEO of ESGpec.

Promoted by MilkPoint Ventures, the Dairy Vision Awards recognizes projects, products, and strategies in the Brazilian dairy industry. Alvoar's initiative was among the three finalists in the ESG & Sustainability category.

From farm assessments to supply chain management.

Evaluating hundreds of properties requires standardization, team participation, and a consistent way to gather results. In this project, Alvoar mobilized its supplier network, while ESGpec contributed technology and technical expertise to record the evaluations, consolidate the data, and produce animal welfare indicators.

Each producer received an individual report outlining areas for practical improvement. Organizing this information also provides an overview of the entire farm network, enhancing the ability to monitor the supply chain without losing sight of the specific characteristics of each farm. Some of the data was used in research presented at ADSA in the United States.

The work also had an impact on communication. The results of the assessments gave rise to Alvoar's content that shares lessons learned and values the participation of producers. Thus, the diagnosis now supports both technical decisions and communication about the supply chain's practices.

A meeting about changes in the dairy sector.

The awards ceremony was part of a program dedicated to the transformations in the dairy market. In the presentations attended by ESGpec, the search for new ways to create value appeared on different fronts: products for specific nutritional needs, new formats and consumption occasions, utilization of milk components, and the use of artificial intelligence in management.

Discussions about protein, longevity, and convenience showed how the industry seeks to respond to changes in diet. In production and management, efficiency, information quality, and adaptability were also on the agenda.

For ESGpec, these themes connect to the work developed with Alvoar due to the need to bring information and decision-making closer together. In animal welfare assessment, this connection begins on farms, with standardized records, and reaches the industry through indicators that help to understand and manage its supplier network.

Animal welfare with information and continuity

The award highlights the collaboration between industry, producers, technical teams, and specialized technology. Reaching 504 farms demonstrates the scope of the work carried out and the possibility of structuring evaluations across a chain encompassing properties with diverse realities.

The continuation of this effort depends on using the knowledge produced to define priorities and monitor actions over time. It is in this daily use of data that the diagnosis can contribute to advances in animal welfare and sustainability management.

ESGpec congratulates Alvoar Lácteos on the recognition and thanks them for their trust in the partnership, as well as the involvement of the technicians and producers who participated in the evaluations.
