ESGpec Synergy integrates universities and sustainable livestock farming

ESGpec, a Minas Gerais-based startup focused on digital solutions for livestock sustainability, is launching the ESGpec Synergy program, designed to facilitate partnerships with programs and projects run by educational and research institutions. The program aims to promote the use of sustainability analysis tools in dairy farming, in addition to providing access to the Despertar Regenerativo Community . This community, available since July 2024, is now also accessible to educational and research groups throughout Brazil.

Synergy

With ESGpec Synergy , participants have access to solutions such as PEC Map , a data monitoring tool offered to dairy farms, consulting and technical support, and specific diagnostics covering animal welfare, sustainability, and carbon footprint. All of these initiatives aim to integrate science into the field.

Ongoing academic partnerships

The ESGpec Synergy program already has three partnerships: the University of Vale do Paraíba (Univap) , the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), and the Leite Family Project at the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV) . These collaborations involve the use of ESGpec's technological tools in projects focused on teaching, research, and outreach.

At Univap , led by Professor Allan Reis Troni, the partnership supports the technical and scientific training of veterinary students by applying ESGpec tools to studies on sustainability and production efficiency in the Paraíba Valley, São Paulo. This project is also linked to the São José dos Campos Technological Innovation Park.

At UFBA , under the coordination of Professor Manuela Silva Libanio Tosto, the objective of the partnership is to train students and researchers in the use of technologies for sustainability analysis and implementation of sustainable practices in Bahia's livestock industry.

In the Milk Family project, coordinated by Professor Polyana Pizzi Rotta, ESGpec provides technologies that allow the generation of social, economic and environmental indicators on dairy farms.

PEC Map supports an integrated vision in academic research

Within the ESGpec Synergy framework, educational, research, and technology institutions have access to PEC Map , a tool developed for monitoring and consolidating data from different dairy farms. According to Bruna Silper, co-founder of ESGpec, PEC Map enables comprehensive analyses, encompassing indicators of carbon footprint, animal welfare, and socioeconomic aspects.

"PEC Map enables institutions to conduct integrated studies, combining variables related to sustainability, productivity, and zootechnical performance, for example, and generating relevant information for research and the market," says Bruna.

In addition, the program provides tools such as Pré Carbon Score , BEA Score , ESG Farm Score , and PEC Calc , which can be used in specific analyses of participating rural properties, providing a detailed technical basis for academic studies and human resource training, with a focus on Sustainability in Livestock.

Regenerative Awakening Project: practical application of the tools

Outside of academia, the Regenerative Awakening Project offers free access to ESGpec tools directly to rural producers, focusing on case studies and the production of industry benchmarks. These tools include:

  • Pre Carbon Score Milk , aimed at assessing the degree of readiness of properties for estimating the carbon footprint of milk;

  • BEA Score Leite , which measures animal welfare indicators on farms;

  • ESG Farm Score Leite , a multi-criteria tool for assessing farm sustainability;

  • PEC Calc , milk carbon footprint calculator.

Bruna Silper explains that the data collected by the project is crucial for connecting field practices with academic research. "The Regenerative Awakening Project encourages the use of technology in the field and provides information that supports the advancement of sustainability, without the cost barrier for producers," she states.

Regenerative Awakening Community connects gyms and coaches

ESGpec also launched the Regenerative Awakening Community , part of the Synergy program. The initiative is aimed at technicians and academics interested in regenerative practices in dairy farming. The platform serves as a collaborative space for exchanging knowledge and developing technical and scientific projects related to the ESG agenda.

Invitation for new partnerships

ESGpec invites other educational and research institutions to participate in the ESGpec Synergy program. Course coordinators, researchers, and academic leaders can request information about the program and access to technological tools through the company's official website ( www.esgpec.com.br ) or social media channels.

“Partnerships are an opportunity to generate relevant data and promote practices that connect scientific knowledge to the needs of the productive sector,” concludes Bruna Silper.
