A Brazilian startup specializing in sustainability in dairy farming is among the 193 companies selected from 1,961 applicants from 47 countries and is part of a global group linked to the FAO's World Food Forum.
ESGpec, a Brazilian startup specializing in digital solutions for measuring and managing sustainability in dairy farming, has been selected to participate in the MassChallenge Switzerland & UK 2026 program , one of the most relevant global acceleration programs for impact and innovation startups.
The selection places the company among the 193 startups chosen from 1,961 applicants worldwide , representing approximately the top 10% of projects evaluated by a network of nearly 425 independent experts from the MassChallenge ecosystem. The selected startups represent 47 countries across five continents.
In addition to being accepted into the program, ESGpec is part of the group of startups linked to the World Food Forum Startup Innovation Awards (WFF-SIA) , an initiative linked to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), aimed at recognizing solutions capable of transforming global food systems and contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals.
International recognition for a solution developed in Brazil.
Founded in Belo Horizonte (MG), ESGpec develops technologies focused on the measurement, monitoring, and management of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) indicators in dairy farming.
Their portfolio includes solutions for calculating carbon footprint, assessing animal welfare, monitoring ESG, and consolidating indicators for cooperatives, dairies, input companies, certification bodies, and rural producers. The methodologies used are aligned with international benchmarks such as IPCC, ISO, Dairy Sustainability Framework (DSF), International Dairy Federation (IDF), and WOAH.
Currently, the company's solutions already support more than 1,000 rural producers in 11 Brazilian states , monitoring approximately 800 million liters of milk per year , equivalent to about 2% of national production. This data allows for the transformation of productive and environmental information into reliable indicators for decision-making, regulatory compliance, and emission reduction strategies.
According to the official description released by the program, ESGpec is a digital platform that allows producers and agribusiness companies to measure their carbon footprint, monitor ESG indicators, and improve the sustainability of milk production systems.
"We received this news with great joy because it recognizes not only ESGpec, but also the potential of Brazilian innovation applied to food production. Being among the startups selected by MassChallenge and the World Food Forum ecosystem reinforces our conviction that rural producers can be protagonists in the transition to more sustainable food systems. We want to show the world that it is possible to combine productivity, technology and environmental responsibility based on data generated within farms." Bruna Silper, CEO and co-founder of ESGpec
What is the MassChallenge?
Created in the United States and present in different countries, MassChallenge is a global non-profit organization focused on accelerating high-potential startups.
The Swiss program has supported more than 1,175 startups since 2016, companies that together have raised more than CHF 2.9 billion in investments and contributed to the creation of more than 86,000 direct and indirect jobs.
The 2026 edition will bring together startups from the agrifood, health, artificial intelligence, industry, and climate technology sectors in a four-month journey that includes:
specialized mentoring;
connecting with investors;
Relationship with large companies;
technical workshops;
international validation opportunities;
Access to a global innovation network.
The program will conclude in October with awards ceremonies in London and Lausanne, where up to CHF 1 million in non-dilutive prizes will be distributed, in addition to supplementary benefits.
Next step: expanding the impact of data-driven sustainability.
For ESGpec, participation in the MassChallenge represents a strategic opportunity to accelerate its international expansion, strengthen connections with global companies in the food chain, and broaden access to markets that demand traceability, emissions measurement, and reliable ESG indicators.
The company believes that sustainability in food production depends on democratizing access to data and the ability to transform technical information into practical decisions for producers, industries, and other links in the production chains.
By connecting science, technology, and rural production, ESGpec seeks to contribute to more resilient and transparent food systems, better prepared for the climate and regulatory challenges of the coming decades.
