The regenerative awakening in dairy production - balance, integration and biodiversity for a sustainable future
This eBook stems from the convergence of science, fieldwork, and awareness, inspired by lectures presented at three major industry events: SINPEL 2025 (National Dairy Farming Symposium), Expodireto Cotrijal 2025, and the 3rd RTC-CCGL Technical Conference. Based on reflections shared by technicians, producers, researchers, and public officials, the material proposes a new way of thinking about dairy farming: a farming system that not only reduces impacts, but also regenerates, connects, and transforms.
Throughout the chapters, we discuss the role of regenerative agriculture in restoring natural cycles, the relationships between soil health, animal health, and human health, and how animal welfare directly influences productivity and milk quality. Biodiversity is presented not only as an environmental indicator but also as a strategic ally of productive resilience. The concept of "Theory U" is used to illustrate the necessary transition process: from automatism to consciousness, from reactivity to co-creation.
More than a technical guide, this eBook is a call for a new leadership role for Brazilian dairy farming. A sector that recognizes the challenges of climate change but also sees opportunities in new metrics, monitoring tools (such as the BEA Score), and evidence-based practices—without losing touch with the people, territories, and ways of life that sustain milk production.
With accessible language and solid foundations, this material is aimed at producers, technicians, organizations in the dairy chain, and anyone who wants to actively participate in building a more balanced, integrated, and biodiverse future.
